Frequently asked questions
Will SeatGuard change anything without asking?
No. It reads your account to build its reports. It removes access, changes a member's role, deactivates people or archives boards only after an admin confirms the named people or boards, or after a board owner submits an access review.
Can I undo a change?
Guest removals and seat changes can be undone from SeatGuard for 10 minutes. A board owner can undo a submitted review for 10 minutes. Archived boards are restored from monday's Archive.
Why does SeatGuard ask me to connect it?
Scheduled scans, review reminders and approved changes run on SeatGuard's server when nobody has it open. The connection gives the server access to your account with the permissions you approve, and it is stored encrypted in monday code secure storage. Any admin can reconnect it from the banner shown if it breaks.
What data does SeatGuard read and keep?
See the privacy policy for the full list. In short: user, board and team identifiers, counts and board titles. It does not store your items, updates or files. Names and emails are saved only with audit trail entries, in encrypted storage, for 12 months.
What happens to my data if I uninstall?
Everything SeatGuard stored for your account is deleted automatically, normally within seconds of the uninstall and in any case within 10 days.
A board owner sees "not available" or "nothing to review".
The access review tab only works for members who currently own the board. Viewers and guests cannot act through the monday API, so they are skipped and reported on the campaign page. "Nothing to review" appears on boards that are not part of a campaign, or before an admin has run the first scan.
Why can't an owner revoke access that comes from a team?
SeatGuard never changes teams. When access comes from a team, the owner's choice becomes a follow-up for the admin, who edits the team in monday.
What does SeatGuard cost?
Accounts with up to 10 seats are free with every feature. Larger accounts get a 14-day trial, then a plan billed by monday at about $1 per seat per month before monday's volume discounts. Prices on our website are estimates. The price at checkout applies. See the home page for estimates.
My account is above 10 seats and the trial ended. What still works?
Scans, all views, the audit trail and one access review campaign per quarter keep working. Bulk guest removal, seat actions, archiving and CSV/PDF exports need a plan.
Are the seat savings guaranteed?
No. They are estimates. The number of seats you pay for changes only when you lower it at your monday renewal.
